9/11 Story

On Tuesday, September 11, 2001 at 8:46am the United States was forever changed as a country. In the next hour and a half, four terrorist attacks took place in the Northeast Peninsula of the United States, but affected Americans all across the country still to this day.

The first hijacking was on World Trade Centers North Tower; the 110- story building was crashed into and later collapsed. The American Airlines Flight 11 included five suicide hijackers and 87 innocent passengers. Minutes later at 9:03am the twin tower, South Tower was crashed into by the United Airlines Flight 175 aboard that flight was 5 hijackers and 60 innocent victims. Between the World Trades Center 2,606 people died from these attacks alone.

As the day unfolded and authority and citizens became aware and alert of the attacks, American Airlines Flight 77 flew into The US Pentagon at 9:37 am. This attack killed 184 people, 59 passengers on the flight and 125 victims in the Pentagon.

A forth attack was underway, at 10:03 am the country learned of the heroes on United Airlines Flight 93. They fought to gain control of the plane from the hijackers when they learned of other attacks. They crashed into a field southeast of Pennsylvania, instantly killing 40 heroes. The flight was believed to be heading to the Whitehouse.
